Exactly. I like what Neil DeGrasse Tyson has said about it. Basically that humans living on Mars would require terraforming it to transform the surface into an artificial Earth and if we ever have the technology to turn Mars into Earth then we would have the technology to "turn Earth back into Earth."
So, why not use one's resources to make the planet safer and more livable now?
Yes. Fortunately I think we are still really far from having machines that can actually think. The 'AI' hype is very overblown. The only people who are saying that AI is about to replace humans are people who have invested lots of their companies' and/or investors money in something that is turning out to not even be close to what they are claiming.
